5 Ways to connect with your divine Energy

Updated: Apr 2, 2020

This begins with listening to subtle messages from the body rather than rationalizations of the mind. Getting too wrapped up in analytical processes of the mind when making decisions is generally considered a quality of our masculine energy. Find balance by allowing your heart to tell you the truth. What it looks like: Start simply by pausing to check in with yourself before responding to questions. Take a breath. Ask yourself about what you really desire, not just about the easiest or most logical option. Don't say "yes" when you really mean "no." Often we suppress what we truly desire because we deem it silly, crazy or impossible. We can never know what is possible unless we hold the door open for our thoughts to pass through.

This follows point one. How often are you actually noticing how you feel throughout the day? The body is a beautiful vessel that speaks to us in sensation. When we do not listen to it, we disconnect from our ability to create pleasure.

By beginning to honor both your light and your darkness within you, we are inviting

the shadow in yourself to show up. This represents aspects of our being that we have tried to sweep under the rug and forget about for some time. Often, we avoid these qualities because they are very painful for us to process. However, keeping any part of yourself hidden means you are never fully integrated into your true nature.

It all starts with your breath. Chandra Bhedana (Moon-Piercing Breath) is a version of alternate nostril breathing that connects you to lunar energy by inhaling only through your left nostril and exhaling through your right.

For this breath, find a comfortable seat. Bring your index and middle fingers on your right hand to third eye center. Close your right nostril with your thumb and inhale through your left nostril. Then, close your left nostril with your ring and pinky fingers and open the right nostril and exhale.

Continue to breathe this way for at least twenty rounds of breath. Inhaling in through only your left nostril, this activates your lunar energy (which runs on the left side of your body) and exhaling only through your right nostril releases your solar energy (which runs on the right side of your body).

Divine feminine yoga is all about connecting with your intuition, creating and being present. Allow yourself to get on your mat with no expectations, listen to your body and get creative with a flow.

The poses below are some ideas to help you connect with lunar energy. Use them as a starting point for your own creativity!

Half moon pose, Ardha Chandrasana. Cultivates balance, a deep sense of confidence and creativity completely grounded in your divine feminine in this pose.
